| Please place on the June 6, 2018 agenda, a referral to the Finance and Citywide Projects Committee to consider the creation of a dedicated Communications and Marketing budget for the City’s resiliency program.
The City has gone to great lengths to develop a robust resiliency program in an effort to mitigate and prepare for the effects of climate change and sea level rise, and to reinforce our city’s infrastructure via the water main replacement and redundant sanitary sewer implementation. For its success, it is imperative that the residents of Miami Beach fully understand and can embrace the initiatives and strategies carried out by the City.
Seeing as our Communications and Marketing Department does not currently have any type of dedicated budget allocated to this program, I would like for the Committee members to explore the creation of one with the aim of providing educational materials and timely information to our residents.
