| SUBJECT: | DISCUSSION TO PROVIDE A STATUS UPDATE ON THE RESIDENTIAL STORMWATER TIE-IN INITIATIVE. |

| | | | | | | | ANALYSIS
| Please place on the June 6, 2018 City Commission agenda, a discussion item for City Staff to provide an update on the current status of the residential tie-in to the City’s stormwater system.
In April 2017, the City Commission unanimously reaffirmed via resolution its commitment to the design and implementation of a stormwater system with sufficient capacity to handle both public and private residential stormwater runoff and create a solution for private property owners with existing low elevation properties to connect and shed private storm water into the City’s municipal stormwater system.
Since then, staff has been working on the drainage connections with several property owners in the Palm and Hibiscus Islands neighborhoods, whose Neighborhoods Improvement projects had been designed previous to the Resolution.
I would like to have the Administration provide an update on the current status of the tie-in initiative to include residents that have already opted into the project.
Included are the most up-to-date diagrams of the stormwater system and how single family residence drainage connections can be carried out.
For additional information, please contact my office at extension 6437.
