Please add a time-certain Discussion Item to the May 16, 2018 City Commission Agenda to discuss the current schedule status of the stormwater project for Palm and Hibiscus Islands and the potential to install permanent generators at this location.
I am very concerned about delays in the promised schedule for the project in this neighborhood. In previous updates, I believe that May 2018 was the target completion; however, as I visit the islands the project does not seem far enough along to make that timeframe. Residents would like to see this project completed as promised, and it is incumbent upon the City to do so as property owners still need to make their own remediation as part of harmonization and stormwater system tie-in. I would like to have an update from Public Works with the vendor in attendance.
Secondly, I have received numerous concerned e-mails from Palm and Hibiscus Island residents regarding the lack of planned permanent generators for the stormwater system pumps in this neighborhood. I am asking staff to provide the Commission with a detailed update, including an estimate of the cost of permanent generator(s) for this area.
