Please place on the March 7, 2018 City Commission Agenda, a referral to the Finance and Citywide Projects Committee (FCWPC) to provide an update on additional city contracts and municipal funding that could feed the proposed public school education enhancement 501(c)(3), Miami Beach for Better Public Education.

At the March 31, 2017 FCWPC meeting, direction was provided to form a 501(c)(3) organization to fund public school education enhancements. Direction was also provided to City staff to identify additional City contracts that could feed the 501(c)(3) similarly to the public benefit received from the City’s current waste hauler agreement.

During the November 8, 2017 FCWPC meeting school enhancements survey results discussion, I again directed City staff to provide the Committee with ideas for municipal funding resources for the same purpose.

The purpose of this discussion is to hear proposed options from The Administration.
