Please place on the January 17 regular agenda, a discussion regarding an update on lobbying efforts in Tallahassee due to the numerous bills being filed against home rule.  There are a number of bills being filed to expand State preemption and attack home rule and the ability of local government to regulate itself. Some examples to name a few consist of short term rentals and tree maintenance.   As such, the City of Miami Beach should amend our lobbying priorities accordingly to protect the rights of local government.
