| | SUBJECT: | DISCUSS GRANTING A SQUARE FOOTAGE WAIVER, IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,184.39, TO THE MIAMI BEACH WATERSPORTS CENTER, A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, SO IT MAY HOLD ITS ANNUAL FUNDRAISER REGATTA ON OCTOBER 15, 2017, WHICH FUNDS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND THE ADAPTIVE ROWING PROGRAM FOR DISABLED ATHLETES. |

| I am hereby requesting, on behalf of the Miami Beach Watersports Center, a non-profit organization, to waive the square footage fees for its annual regatta on October 15, 2017. The total fee waiver request for both of the below referenced areas is $2,184.39. (That amount was derived as follows: a total of 8,737.54 square feet X $0.25 per square foot = $2,184.39.)
- Street closure of 65th Street: 2 lanes between Collins Avenue and Indian Creek Drive. The Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan and the square feet measurement is attached.
- Tents in Brittany Bay Park: Twenty-two 10’ x 10’ tents for teams attending the regatta and for the finish line/timing, awards, and race announcer. The square feet measurement is attached.
The regatta is a fundraiser for the Miami Beach Watersports Center. All proceeds will go toward funding scholarships for high school students and the adaptive rowing program for disabled athletes.
