Please add a discussion item on the July 26, 2017 Commission Agenda, regarding supplementing Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ Educational Drug Program in Miami Beach.

Attached is an article from The Miami Herald, published July 17, 2017, entitled “A 10-year-old Miami boy may be latest – and among youngest – victim of opioid crisis,” which details the death of a Miami child who had the potent painkiller fentanyl in his system. His death comes against the backdrop of a staggering opioid crisis that has wreaked havoc across the country, with hundreds of South Florida drug users fatally overdosing in recent years.
