SUBJECT:DISCUSS AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 2 (PROCUREMENT), BY CREATING AN ORDINANCE THAT ESTABLISHES PROCEDURES FOR SURVEILLANCE TECHNOLOGY CONTRACTS.

RECOMMENDATION

Commissioner Grieco has requested that this revised proposed Ordinance be placed as a discussion item for the July 26, 2017 Commission meeting. The original proposed Ordinance was presented to the Mayor and City Commission for first reading on October 19, 2016.

 

The Ordinance was discussed by the City Commission on October 19, 2016, and the matter was referred to the Neighborhoods/Community Affairs Committee (NCAC) for additional clarification and development surrounding its impact upon the City and the Police Department. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), subsequent to the referral of this matter to NCAC, has revised the proposed Ordinance.

The revised version of the proposed Ordinance is attached.
