| SUBJECT: | DISCUSSION REGARDING A REQUEST THAT THE CITY MANAGER PRORATE THE ANNUAL SQUARE FOOTAGE FEE FOR SIDEWALK CAFE PERMITTEES LOCATED ON ESPAÑOLA WAY (THAT ARE IN GOOD STANDING) SO THAT A SQUARE FOOTAGE FEE IS ONLY CHARGED FOR THE PERIOD BETWEEN JUNE 1, 2017 AND SEPTEMBER 30, 2017. |

| Pursuant to the request of Commissioner Michael Grieco, the above-referenced discussion item has been placed on the June 7, 2017 City Commission meeting agenda.
Pursuant to City Code Sec. 82-383(b), "[t]he city manager, in his reasonable discretion and judgment, may suspend or prorate the annual permit fee in cases of public construction or public emergency situations." Due to the near-completion of the City's capital improvement project on Española Way, Commissioner Grieco is requesting that the Mayor and City Commission direct the City Manager to prorate the square footage fee for sidewalk cafe permittees located on Española Way (that are in good standing) so that a square footage fee is only charged for the period between June 1, 2017 and September 30, 2017. |
