Please place on the June 7, 2017 City Commission Agenda, a referral to the Neighborhood/Community Affairs Committee to consider directing staff to conduct a traffic study of the intersection of 79th Street and Collins Avenue.

I have received complaints from residents regarding this intersection being a traffic hazard.  As a two-way street with access to the beach, the park and the boardwalk, it also doubles as a City of Miami Beach Parks Depot with constant movement of trucks. 

Following reports of various close calls, I would like the City to proactively study the area and research viable remedies, such as the installation of an additional traffic light, in an effort to prevent future accidents and further enhance the safety of pedestrians and cars alike.
