| SUBJECT: | A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF COORDINATING LAW ENFORCEMENT PLANNING, OPERATIONS AND MUTUAL AID BENEFIT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA. |

| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND/HISTORY
| Pursuant to Chapter 23 of the Florida State Statutes, known as the" Florida Mutual Aid Act', the City of Miami Beach and the City of Opa-Locka have the authority to enter into a Voluntary Cooperation and Operational Assistance Mutual Aid Agreement. The current Mutual Aid Agreement between the City of Miami Beach and the City of Opa-Locka will expire on December 31, 2023. |
