SUBJECT:REPORT OF THE EXPANSION OF THE FOOTPRINT OF THE MIAMI BEACH CITY HALL EARLY VOTING LOCATION DURING THE NOVEMBER 7, 2023 MIAMI BEACH GENERAL ELECTION AND NOVEMBER 21, 2023 RUN-OFF ELECTION (IF REQUIRED).

RECOMMENDATION

The City Clerk hereby notifies the City Commission that he will be installing an Air-Conditioned Tent on the First Floor Breezeway of City Hall, in order to provide ample space for voter staging, ensure social distancing, accommodate the elderly and disabled voters, and provide cover from the elements for those in line during Early Voting for the November 7, 2023 Miami Beach General Election and November 21, 2023 Run-Off Election (if required).

ANALYSIS

A General Election has been called by the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, pursuant to City Resolution No. 2023-32678, and will be held in the City of Miami Beach, Florida from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on November 7, 2023, to elect a Mayor and City Commissioners in Groups IV, V, and VI, respectively, each of whom shall hold office for the terms as provided by law. A Run-Off Election, if required, shall be held from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on November 21, 2023.

 

During Early Voting for the General and Run-Off Elections (if required), Miami Beach voters may vote at any of the two City of Miami Beach Early Voting sites, located at:

Miami Beach previously expanded the Early Voting footprint at Miami Beach City Hall during the Presidential Primary Preference Election of March 15, 2016, the Primary Election of August 30, 2016, the General Election of November 8, 2016, the November 6, 2018 General and Miami Beach Special Elections, the Presidential Primary Preference of March 2, 2020, the August 18, 2020 Primary Election, the November 3, 2020 Presidential and Miami Beach Special Elections, the November 2, 2021 General and Special Elections, and the November 8, 2022 General and Special Elections.
