Please place on the June 28, 2023 agenda a referral to the Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality of Life Committee to discuss whether the City currently maintains, either through the BTR process, the vacant storefront registry and/or another mechanism, a comprehensive list of commercial property owners in the City and their respective contact information.
Recently, some residents have expressed a desire to potentially lease certain commercial / retail storefront property in the City, but have been unable to readily obtain the contact information for the owner(s) of these properties. It is in the best interest of the City and residents to have vacant properties leased expeditiously. As such, I would ask that the Administration be prepared to discuss at Committee whether a comprehensive list of commercial property owner contact information is presently maintained by the City or, if not, recommendations as to how the City can compile and maintain a master list of commercial property owner contact information.
