SUBJECT:DISCUSS/TAKE ACTION: ACCEPT THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND NEIGHBORHOOD QUALITY OF LIFE COMMITTEE, AT ITS MARCH 22, 2023 MEETING, AND DIRECT THE ADMINISTRATION TO CONDUCT A COMMISSION WORKSHOP ON TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT.

RECOMMENDATION

The Administration recommends that the Mayor and City Commission (“City Commission”) discuss the item and if there is consensus to move forward, work with the Administration and the City Clerk’s Office to identify a date to conduct a City Commission Workshop on Traffic Management.

BACKGROUND/HISTORY

At the March 22, 2023 Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality of Life Committee (“PSNQLC” or “Committee”) meeting, the Committee discussed various traffic issues such as the synchronization of traffic lights on multiple corridors, the 63 Street bridge opening schedule, and other traffic-related items. During discussion on these items, the PSNQLC recommended that the City Administration conduct a City Commission Workshop on Traffic Management, to discuss traffic concerns comprehensively and in greater detail, including identifying challenges and opportunities.

CONCLUSION
