SUBJECT:	REFERRAL TO THE LAND USE AND SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE AND THE PLANNING BOARD REGARDING CHANGES TO THE CITY’S ALTON ROAD HISTORIC DISTRICT BUFFER OVERLAY AND PHARMACY REGULATIONS NECESSARY FOR THE RELOCATION OF THE MIAMI BEACH COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER.

ANALYSIS

The City, Miami-Dade County, and private landowners have been working on the potential relocation of the Miami Beach Community Health Center from 710/720 Alton Road to 663 Alton Road.

The proposed County facility would include both a relocated Health Center and a public library. In order to accommodate the proposed use, revisions to the Alton Road Historic District Buffer Overlay and the City’s pharmacy regulations are necessary.

Please place an item on the February 1, 2023 City Commission Agenda to refer the necessary legislation to the Land Use and Sustainability Committee and the Planning Board for their review and recommendation.
