COMMISSION MEMORANDUM

TO:Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Commission
FROM:Alina T. Hudak, City Manager
DATE:February  22, 2023

SUBJECT:REQUEST FOR APPROVAL TO ISSUE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) 2023-001-ND ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE, REPAIRS, AND PARTS.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Mayor and Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida authorize the issuance of Request for Proposals (RFP) for elevator maintenance, repairs, and parts.

BACKGROUND/HISTORY

Elevator maintenance and repair services for City facilities are essential to the Administration’s ability to provide the City’s staff, residents, and visitors with safe and reliable elevator transport.  For approximately five years, the City of Miami Beach (the City) has had an agreement for elevator maintenance, repairs, and parts.  The current contract expires on May 29, 2023.  The purpose of this RFP is to seek proposals for a replacement agreement.

ANALYSIS

In order to consider a replacement agreement, this Request for Proposals (RFP) seeks proposals from qualified elevator maintenance firms to establish service maintenance contract(s) to therein provide the City with various routine maintenance services, and repairs to the City’s fleet of elevators. Because of the sensitivity of the work, an RFP is recommended to be able to evaluate qualifications and approach, as well as cost.

The scope of work and requirements of the RFP for Elevator Maintenance, Repairs, and Parts are more fully defined in the RFP attached as Attachment A.

Following the receipt of proposals, an Evaluation Committee will review proposals in accordance with the criteria established in the RFP.
