Please place on the January 11, 2017 City Commission agenda a discussion item regarding the termination for convenience of the City’s state legislative consulting services agreement.

The City is currently under an agreement with Corcoran & Associates, Inc. (dba Corcoran & Johnston), and Southern Strategy Group, Inc., for state legislative consulting services. The initial term of the agreement began on October 1, 2014, and ends on September 30, 2019. Notwithstanding the above, the agreement is terminable by the City for convenience with fifteen (15) days’ notice.

I believe it is in the best interest of the City to terminate this agreement for convenience and reallocate funding, so that these services may be performed internally by the Office of the Mayor and City Commission, which, pursuant to Resolution No. 2015-29847, oversees and manages the City’s legislative and governmental affairs.
