| | SUBJECT: | REFERRAL TO THE DISABLED ACCESS COMMITTEE TO DISCUSS DISABLED ACCESS FOR THE WEST AVENUE PROJECT. |

| | | | | | | | RECOMMENDATION
| Referral to the Disabled Access Committee to review how the West Avenue Phase II project will meet all federal, state and local requirements to protect the disabled (e.g., Americans with Disability Act (ADA) regulations) during construction and after the project is completed.
The Committee should pay especially close attention to the impact of higher road elevations, harmonization and sloping. Moreover the Committee should look for ways to ensure the the project is as disabled-friendly as feasible.
The Committee is requested to provide the Commission with a preliminary written assessment including any potential improvement opportunities by May 11, 2022. |
