| SUBJECT: | A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT AN IN-KIND DONATION FROM PURA VIDA MIAMI, LLC, CONSISTING OF NON-ALCOHOLIC DRINKS (JUICE AND KOMBUCHA), HAVING AN APPROXIMATE VALUE OF $400.00, TO BE USED AS REFRESHMENTS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY DEPARTMENT'S "WE HEART BISCAYNE BAY" EVENT, WHICH WILL TAKE PLACE IN APRIL, 2022. |

| The Administration recommends that the Mayor and City Commission approve the in-kind donation from Pura Vida Miami, LLC in an approximate amount of $400.00, to be utilized as refreshments for the "We Heart Biscayne Bay" event. |

| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND/HISTORY
| As part of the Environmental and Sustainability Department's efforts to educate the community on the top three polluters of Biscayne Bay, they will hold an event to kick off Earth Month, and bring awareness to one of the top polluters of Biscayne Bay - pet waste. This will be the first of three events with future events to speak to the topics of fertilizer and general recycling / garbage waste.
The event is set to take place in April 2022 at a location TBD in order to coincide with Earth Month., Attendees will be asked to 'take the pledge' by acknowledging that they will be part of the solution to keep Biscayne Bay clean.
The in-kind donation of juice and kombucha will be used as a non alcoholic and underage refreshment option for attendees who sign up to take the pledge.

| With the acceptance of this resolution, the Administration will not be required to spend money on refreshments, and will be able to reallocate existing budget line items to further enhance the event. |
