O Cinema co-director, Kareem Tabsch, is requesting the City Commission consider amending its management agreement with O Cinema before the contract's expiration on October 2019. O Cinema is responsible for the maintenance of the Baron Carlyle under the current deal, which has hampered its ability to provide low-cost/ free quality programming for children, families, and seniors. As part of the amendment, O Cinema is seeking for the City to waive base use fees, revisit annual benchmarks, support the organization by covering the maintenance and repair costs to operate the building, and cover utility expenses. Attached is the formal request from O Cinema to be discussed as part of the FY 18/19 budget process.
