COMMITTEE MEMORANDUM

HISTORY:

At the July 13, 2016 Commission meeting, Commissioner John Elizabeth Aleman referred a discussion item regarding the renaming of North Shore Open Space Park (NSOSP) to the Neighborhood and Community Affairs Committee (NCAC).

At the June 30, 2017 NCAC meeting, the proposed name of "North Beach Oceanside Park" was deferred, pending a referral at the request of Commissioner Kristen Rosen Gonzalez to rename NSOSP as "North Shore Oceanside Park", so that all proposed names could be considered simultaneously.

CONCLUSION:

The Parks and Recreation Department would like to defer this item until the North Beach Steering Committee has had the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed names.
