SUBJECT:DISCUSSION REGARDING CAPITAL APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE 4-FOLD BI-PARTING HURRICANE DOORS AT FIRE STATION NO. 02 AND BASS MUSEUM EMERGENCY GENERATOR

ANALYSIS:

Administration has requested a referral to the Finance and Citywide Projects Committee in order to appropriate proposed budget transfers between adopted projects. Several Capital Renewal and Replacement (CR&R) projects have been underfunded while other CR&R projects have been completed with savings. The Property Management Department is requesting that the surplus funds identified in the fully executed projects be transferred to the underfunded projects listed below, as needed.

 

 

Fire Station No. 02 Hurricane Fold Bay Doors

 

On August 21, 2018 an Invitation to Quote (ITQ) 2019-001-MT was issued pursuant to ITB 2017-049-WG to procure the replacement of the engine bay doors at Fire Station 02. The lowest quote to replace the doors with labor included was in the amount of $173,000.00. The CR&R project allocation to replace the bay doors has a current balance of $24,038.40; $3,846.60 will be funded through the Fire Department’s general fund. The Property Management Department has been able to identify funds that may be used to complete this project. The funding sources are as follows:

Bass Generator Replacement

 

On August 23, 2018 an Invitation to Quote (ITQ) 2018-002-LA was issued pursuant to ITB 2017-049-WG to procure the replacement of one (1) 500 kW emergency generator at the Bass Museum. The lowest bid for a turnkey project provided was in the amount of $254,000. The CR&R project allocation to replace the generator has a current balance of $187,963.41. The request for the additional funds will be used to complete the project without hindering the Bass Museum’s operations. The funding sources are as follows:
