COMMITTEE MEMORANDUM

TO: Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality of Life Committee Members

FROM:
Commissioner Joseph Magazine

DATE: May 22, 2024

SUBJECT:

DISCUSSION REGARDING POSSIBLE RESTRUCTURE OF THE NEXT GENERATION COUNCIL.

HISTORY:

At the April 3, 2024 City Commission meeting, the Mayor and City Commission deferred item R5 I, which seeks to repeal the Next Generation Council due to lack of participation and lack of quorum for the last two (2) years, and referred the matter to the Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality of Life Committee to discuss possible restructure of the council and make recommendations by the July 24, 2024 City Commission meeting.

CONCLUSION:

There are residents interested in forming a part of the Council, nevertheless, it is important to restructure said council in order to ensure consistent participation, quorum and incidence in City matters.
