ANALYSIS

Please place on the May 15, 2024 agenda a dual referral to the Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality of Life (“PSNQLC”) and Finance and Economic Resiliency Committee (“FERC”) to discuss financial and manpower impact of extending law enforcement officer initiatives to Thursday nights during the two middle weekends of March 2025.

Our past Spring Break initiatives included deploying additional law enforcement resources during Fridays and weekends of the busiest weeks of March to address specific challenges and enhance safety and security within our community during peak periods. However, I’d like to discuss extending these initiatives to include Thursday nights during key periods, particularly the two middle weekends of March.

Before proceeding with any changes, I’d like for us to assess the financial and manpower implications associated with this extension.
