| | SUBJECT: | DISCUSSION REGARDING POTENTIAL PROACTIVE ENFORCEMENT TO IDENTIFY BUSINESSES OPERATING WITHOUT A VALID CITY BTR WITHOUT WAITING FOR A RESIDENT COMPLAINT |
|
| | | | | | | | HISTORY:
| At the January 31, 2024 Commission meeting, the Discussion Regarding Potential Proactive Enforcement To Identify Businesses Operating Without A Valid City BTR Without Waiting For A Resident Complaint was referred to the Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality of Life Committee (PSNQLC). |
| | |
| | | | | | | | ANALYSIS
| | Currently, there is a Code Compliance Officer dedicated to proactively investigate BTRs throughout the City. In addition, all officers are fully trained with current BTR regulations and procedures. As part of the FY25 Budget Process, an enhancement request has been submitted requesting to create a dedicated BTR Team of three officers to handle proactive investigations. |
| | |
| | | | | | | | CONCLUSION: Staff will be present to discuss in detail how proactive enforcement is prioritized (i.e. High Liability Establishments).
