| | | | | | | | ANALYSIS
| Commissioner Alex Fernandez would like to discuss the creation of a dog park at 36th Street and Collins Avenue, at the request of the Mid-Beach Neighborhood Association (the “Neighborhood Association”).
The Parks and Recreation Department is also in support of the creation of the dog park. In anticipation of the Mid-Beach Neighborhood Association’s and PSNQLC’s recommendation, the Department has requested for this project to be considered for funding during capital budget process. The estimated total to complete the project is $170,000. The budget will cover all expenses associated with conversion of the site, including fencing, irrigation, landscape improvements, benches, drinking fountains, etc. The intent is for the new dog park to have similar amenities and aesthetics to other dog parks within the City. Currently, the site is maintained by the Greenspace Management Division of the Public Works Department. However, the proposed improvements will be implemented by the Parks and Recreation Department. |
