In the wake of this year’s Spring Break, I remain concerned that many of the visitors to the City during high impact periods, such as the Memorial Day Weekend, have demonstrated a disregard for the rule of law. At the March 27, 2023 City Commission meeting, the Administration advised the City Commission that the security plan for the 2023 Memorial Day Weekend was in place, and that the Administration was in the process of finalizing the details as we get closer to the event date.

I would like for the Police Department to update the City Commission on the 2023 Memorial Day Weekend security plan, including the plan for the coverage of the Ocean Drive and surrounding areas.
