On February 1, 2023, the Mayor and City Commission unanimously approved to eliminate the practice of presenting Proclamations at regular Commission meetings. Instead, the City Commission will present Proclamations only at standalone Presentations and Awards (PA) meetings. The City Commission expressed the desire for such Presentations and Awards meetings to be scheduled to take place every other month (six times per year). 

 At the March 27, 2023 meeting, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2023-32554, adding the PA Meeting for April 17, 2023, and deferred this item to the April 28, 2023 Commission meeting.

 We are proposing the following new dates be added as PA meetings: June 21, July 19, and December 6 (we already had previously scheduled PA meetings on April 17, May 22 and October 25). Note that we are proposing to make the December 6 meeting a PA meeting and make December 13 a Regular Commission Meeting to give the newly elected officials more time to prepare.

 On March 2, 2023, Commissioner Rosen Gonzalez requested to move the last Commission Meeting in July (July 26), earlier in the month to make summer travel plans a little easier. One of our proposals is to schedule a July PA meeting on July 19. However, if it works for Budget/Finance, perhaps we can move the Regular Commission Meeting to July 19 and schedule the PA Meeting on July 26. (Swapping the two dates.)  The other option is that we schedule 5 Presentations Meetings and not 6 this year - that is also allowed under the Ordinance 2023-4541.
