DISCUSSION REGARDING TREE REMOVALS AND NEW TREE PLANTINGS ON CITY PROPERTY INCLUDING AN UPDATE ON RECENTLY COMPLETED AND ON-GOING CAPITAL PROJECTS THROUGHOUT THE CITY INVOLVING TREE REMOVALS, RELOCATIONS, OR PLANTINGS.


HISTORY:

On February 1, 2023, the City Commission, approved a referral to the Public Safety & Neighborhood and Quality of Life Committee to discuss tree removals and new tree plantings on City property including an update on recently completed and on-going capital projects throughout the City involving tree removals, relocations, or plantings (Exhibit A).

ANALYSIS

On April 13, 2021 LTC 159-2021 was issued providing an update on active City projects which involved tree removals, relocations or new plantings (Exhibit B).

On July 2, 2021, LTC #272-2021 was issued providing an update to the previously issued list of active City projects.

The list of active City capital projects has been updated to include new current active projects and the total number of trees anticipated to be planted, removed and relocated. (Exhibit C).

Since the update submitted in April 13, 2021, the following projects have been completed and removed from the list:
