SUBJECT:	REFERRAL TO THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND NEIGHBORHOOD QUALITY OF LIFE COMMITTEE TO DISCUSS INCONSISTENT LIGHTING ON OCEAN DRIVE AND LUMMUS PARK AND POTENTIAL FOR IMPROVEMENT.

BACKGROUND/HISTORY

In its 2022-2023 Vision Statement, the Ocean Drive Association has urged the City of Miami Beach to work with the ODA in develop comprehensive unified lighting plan and its installation.

The ODA has identified the following areas as a priority:

1. Lummus Park

2. Ocean Drive from 14^th to 15^th – approximately 16 palm trees

3. The Promenade area down to 13^th Street

4. The west side of Ocean Drive to 5^th Street

I would like for the City Administration to provide a memo in the Committee agenda on its efforts and coordination with the ODA to improve lighting in the aforementioned areas. I would like for solar lighting wrapped around the trees in this area to be considered as a pilot.
