| SUBJECT: | A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO GOVERNOR RON DESANTIS FOR TAKING ACTION TO ALLOW LOCAL GOVERNMENTS THE AUTHORITY TO RESOLVE CERTAIN LOCAL ISSUES FOR THE SAFETY AND BENEFIT OF THEIR CITIZENS, INCLUDING VETOING SENATE BILL 620, WHICH SOUGHT TO INFRINGE ON THE MUNICIPAL AUTHORITY TO REGULATE BUSINESSES; SIGNING HOUSE BILL 105, WHICH ALLOWS CITIES AND COUNTIES TO RESTRICT SMOKING AT BEACHES AND CITY AND COUNTY-OWNED PUBLIC PARKS; AND SIGNING HOUSE BILL 1435, WHICH IMPOSES PENALTIES ON MOTORISTS PLAYING EXCESSIVELY LOUD MUSIC. |
