| | | | | | | | ANALYSIS
| Please place on the June 22, 2022 City Commission agenda a referral to the Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality of Life Committee for a discussion regarding the recently adopted State of Florida initiative, the “Hometown Heroes” program, which provides financial assistance of up to $25,000 toward down payments and closing costs for home purchases for persons employed in various critical professions, including persons serving as firefighters, law enforcement officers, health professionals, and teachers.
Specifically, as part of this referral, I request that the Administration be prepared to make recommendations for how the City could assist in promoting this program and informing the public as to the availability of these additional State resources, including through the creation of public service announcements and/or placement of the State of Florida’s application materials on the City’s website, and other similar communications efforts.
