| | SUBJECT: | A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF COORDINATING LAW ENFORCEMENT PLANNING, OPERATIONS AND MUTUAL AID BENEFIT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS. |

| | Pursuant to Chapter 23 of the Florida State Statutes, known as the “Florida Mutual Aid Act”, The City of Miami Beach and the City of Miami Gardens have the authority to enter into a Voluntary Cooperation and Operational Assistance Mutual Aid Agreement. The current Mutual Aid Agreement between the City of Miami Beach and the City of Miami Gardens will expire on December 31, 2022. |

| | As such, via the included Resolution, both government entities agree to continue their partnership and execute Mutual Aid Agreements for the purpose of coordinating law enforcement planning, operations, and mutual aid benefit. |
