| Formula One has announced a 10-year deal for the Miami Grand Prix at Hard Rock Stadium. As is the case for major events like the Super Bowl and Orange Bowl, there are often special events associated with the main event that call Miami Beach home. In this instance, Funkshion Productions and Wasserman Media Group are partnering to bring the F1 Grand Prix Festival to Miami Beach. This fan festival has the chance to become a top-tier recurring event for our City that will yield a beneficial economic impact.
The festival producers have asked to present the concept before the City Commission. They are requesting a 10-year exclusivity agreement, support with police and fire services, and a waiver of special event square footage fees to bring this marquee event to Miami Beach.
