The attached Resolution formally adopts the Certificate of results of the City of Miami Beach November 2, 2021 General Election.
With regard to City Commission Groups I and III, no candidate received a majority of the votes cast as required by Sec. 2.01 of the City Charter. Therefore, a Run-off Election will be held on November 16, 2021 as authorized by Resolution No. 2021-31763, and early voting therefor shall be conducted as provided by Resolution No. 2021-31764.
The Run-off Election results for City Commissioner Group I and III will be adopted by the Miami Beach City Commission on November 22, 2021, followed by the swearing in of all the newly-elected officials.
The Unofficial Results of the General Election are attached. Upon receipt of the Official Certificate of Election, the results will be attached to the Resolution and made part of the public record.
Note: Commissioner Mark Samuelian (Group II) was unopposed in his candidacy and therefore was not named on the General Election ballot.
