| It is recommended that the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida authorize the issuance of Request for Qualifications (RFQ) 2022-015-WG for investigation, background, adjusting, and surveillance of selected tort liability claims, workers’ compensation claims, and other employment-related matters. |

| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND/HISTORY
| On May 11, 2016, the Mayor and City Commission awarded RFQ No. 2016-057-WG for investigating claims, backgrounds, adjusting, and surveillance of selected tort liability claims, workers’ compensation claims in other employment-related matters. Contracts were awarded to three vendors for a two-year period with three one-year renewal options that were exercised by the City.
In order to establish a replacement agreement for the required service, the City will be issuing the RFQ to receive and evaluate qualifications from licensed, experienced investigative firms for the services. |

| | | | | | | | ANALYSIS
| Proposers must comply with Chapter 493, Section 6201, Florida Statute, Classes of License, Private Investigative, Private Security, and Repossession Services. The successful firm will be required to provide the following services: surveillance and background investigative services, activity checks, and provide the Human Resources Department with written reports at the conclusion of each assignment. A draft copy of RFQ 2022-015-WG is attached.
Following the receipt of proposals an Evaluation Committee will review proposals in accordance with the criteria established in the RFQ. Following selection by the City Commission, negotiations will be held with the selected firm(s) to determine final scope and costs. |
