On June 24th 2021, Champlain Towers South collapsed - a tragedy that left many wondering how this could have happened and what could have been done to avoid it. On July 9, the Miami Beach Building Department issued its latest update and response to this collapse which included various actions that the department was taking to ensure that buildings in Miami Beach were being properly assessed in a timely manner (see attached).
