I would like to discuss and prioritize numerous public concerns that I have received from residents in high-rise buildings in the City, relating to waterproofing issues in condominiums.

I understand that the Administration is in the process of collaborating with various jurisdictions to recommend changes that would strengthen the Florida Building Code, including but not limited to revisions to the Concrete Code and the 40-year recertification requirements.

I request that as part of the Administration’s ongoing efforts to develop strengthened regional standards, the Administration address and prioritize waterproofing standards, and keep the City Commission regularly apprised of its efforts.
