SUBJECT:	DISCUSSION WITH POTENTIAL REFERRAL ACTION ON THE DRAFT RESOLUTION FROM THE SOUTH OF FIFTH NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION TO AMEND THE CITY LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS TO PROHIBIT APARTMENT HOTELS IN THE RPS-2 ZONED AREA WITHIN THE SOUTH OF FIFTH NEIGHBORHOOD.

ANALYSIS

This item asks that the City Commission review and discuss the draft resolution from the South of Fifth Neighborhood Association (attached) that seeks to amend the City Land Development regulations to prohibit new apartment hotels in the RPS-2 zoned area in the South of Fifth neighborhood.

Specifically, the intent is to refer the item to the Planning Board and LUSC. Given the urgency of the matter, the focus of the Commission discussion should be to accelerate scheduling with the Planning Board whose meeting is currently scheduled for September 28, 2021.
