Currently, state law allows for students to receive free books and tuition when enrolled in dual enrollment courses. State law, however, does not cover the costs of transcripts when it comes time for these students to apply to college or university. I would like the Finance and Economic Resiliency Committee to study how the City would be able to aid our dual enrollment students with the costs associated with obtaining transcripts. We are advised the costs are estimated to be $10,000 per year or less.
