SUBJECT:	REFERRAL TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND QUALITY OF LIFE COMMITTEE TO DISCUSS THE POSSIBILITY TO EXTEND THE OUTDOOR SEATING PROGRAM IN SELECTED AREAS.

ANALYSIS

The pandemic has allowed local businesses to experiment with possibilities of extending open-air seating, which in many cases produced a win-win for the patrons and the businesses alike. The current outdoor seating pilot program lasts 90 days. Many businesses and residents have expressed interest in extending this successful program.

This initiative is supported per the motion made by the Mayor’s 41st Street Blue Ribbon Committee at its March 9, 2021 meeting.
