COMMISSION MEMORANDUM |
| | | |
| | | | | | | | TO: | Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Commission | | FROM: | Commissioner Mark Samuelian | | DATE: | March 17, 2021 | | |
| SUBJECT: | REFERRAL TO THE FINANCE AND ECONOMIC RESILIENCY COMMITTEE TO IDENTIFY FUNDING SOURCES FOR UPCOMING SEAWALL NEEDS. |
| | | |
| | | | | | | | ANALYSIS
| As the City begins to update public seawalls to meet new resiliency criteria, several challenges have presented themselves. City efforts will require funding and, while there is an allocated amount in the GO Bond, it is not sufficient. The item has been at the Land Use and Sustainability Committee and was most recently brought to the 12/15/2020 meeting (after action attached). During this meeting, the committee asked City staff to identify which public seawalls are not currently funded for renovation and improvement. This item asks that City staff be prepared to discuss potential funding sources before the committee. |
