| Please place on the November 18 Commission agenda a discussion regarding the Lazarus Program for the homeless. It is my understanding that this program is not being considered for future funding. The Committee on the Homeless passed a motion recently to have the program permanently funded and not be considered a pilot program. Please find LTC attached. I believe we need to have a discussion about this at the Commission level since the Committee on the Homeless feels so strongly about it as now is not the time to turn our backs on the homeless during a pandemic. The project is said to be changing the pattern and price tag of addressing chronic homelessness and its connection with mental illness and costs of hospitalization and often incarceration.
