SUBJECT:

A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO ENACT A SAFE DRIVING CAMPAIGN IN THE MONTH OF OCTOBER FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2020-2021.


ANALYSIS

On September 22, 2020, the Committee for Quality and Education made a motion (LTC# 335-2020) requesting the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to enact its annual safe driving campaign, which was canceled this year due to the closure of public schools in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
