SUBJECT:	REFERRAL TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND QUALITY OF LIFE COMMITTEE TO DISCUSS THE RECENT HAZARDOUS USE OF WATERBORNE VESSELS AND UNRULY PASSENGER BEHAVIOR ON MARINAS AND WATERWAYS CITYWIDE.

ANALYSIS

Residents and business owners have voiced concerns over City’s marinas and waterways. This is a two-part problem. Firstly, some waterborne vessels currently endanger the Miami Beach waterway’s public use by not following no-wake signage and excessively speeding in residential canals with limited space. The second issue occurs at marinas, where resident complaints indicate high alcohol consumption often leading to unwanted behavior.

This item is inclusive of all waterborne vessel types, including jet skis.
