COMMISSION MEMORANDUM |
| | | |
| | | | | | | | TO: | Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Commission | | FROM: | Commissioner Michael Gongora | | DATE: | September 16, 2020 | | |
| SUBJECT: | DISCUSSION REGARDING ANNUAL FUNDING FOR SOUTH BEACH JAZZ FESTIVAL 2021. |
| | | |
| | | | | | | | ANALYSIS
| Please place on the September 16 Commission agenda a discussion regarding the South Beach Jazz Festival 2021 and the City’s annual funding. From my understanding, the City committed to the South Beach Jazz Festival 2021 already and then new sponsorship application process were proposed by the City administration but that only will apply for events after March 2021. Unfortunately, due to a technicality, the city funding for South Beach Jazz Festival will not happen. This festival promotes our city in a uplifting and positive way, and provides free world class entertainment to guests and residents, as well as employment for local musicians and artists and businesses during these crucial times. Please feel free to contact Diana Fontnai should you need any additional information. |
