SUBJECT:	REFERRAL TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND QUALITY OF LIFE COMMITTEE TO DISCUSS IMPLEMENTING YEAR-ROUND FAMILY-FRIENDLY ACTIVATION IN LUMMUS PARK/OCEAN DRIVE AREA.

ANALYSIS

This item aims to begin the discussion of having 365-day year-round activation of the Lummus Park / Ocean Drive area. Some ideas are a Ferris wheel, carousel, amusement park games, ice cream and food stands, concerts, cultural events, and more. Family-friendly programming will activate this area year-round and increase public safety. This initiative will also be discussed at the Commission's Land Use and Sustainability Committee Workshop on September 17.
