COMMISSION MEMORANDUM |
| | | |
| | | | | | | | TO: | Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Commission | | FROM: | Commissioner Ricky Arriola | | DATE: | May 22, 2020 | | |
| SUBJECT: | DISCUSS PERMITTING LIVE INDOOR AND OUTDOOR ENTERTAINMENT CITYWIDE ON A TEMPORARY BASIS. |
| | | |
| | | | | | | | ANALYSIS
| Due to the coronavirus shutdown, businesses are struggling to survive. In order to drive demand once restaurants reopen, I am asking that the City Manager temporarily permit live indoor and outdoor entertainment citywide. We need to support our local businesses now more than ever. Businesses in Miami and other neighboring municipalities already have a leg up on our local businesses with respect to entertainment during normal times. These are extraordinary times, and our responsibility is to give our small businesses a chance to survive and thrive. |
