SUBJECT:UPDATE AND STATUS REVIEW OF THE FAIRWAY PARK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

HISTORY:

At the October 16, 2019 City Commission meeting, a discussion regarding the update and status review of the Fairway Park Improvement Project was referred to the Finance and Economic Resiliency Committee (FERC), formally known as the Finance and Citywide Projects Committee.

ANALYSIS:

The Parks and Recreation Department is working with an engineer to put together the phasing plan for the Fairway Park improvement project. The community has requested construction begin in summer 2020, when the park is hottest and least used. The Department is on track for a projected start date of June 1st.

 

Notably, the budget does not allow for the completion of the entire design project, so the phasing plan will address the community’s priorities during the first stage of construction. Staff will come back to FERC during the FY 21 budget process to request gap funding for the remaining project phases.

Committee discuss the status update regarding the Fairway Park Improvement Project.
