The West Ave. Neighborhood Phase II project has significant above ground work including the installation of pumps (see attached). This referral is intended to build on the ongoing community outreach undertaken such as the Resiliency Accelerator.

This advisory referral idea was highlighted in the 6/12/19 LUDC memo on the role of Land Use Boards: “In the event that a significant roadway elevation project, which may entail substantial above ground improvements such as landscaping, guard rails and differentiations in sidewalk, is proposed, the City Commission could always refer a discussion item, as needed, to the DRB, for more specific input and recommendations.”

Ultimately, the goal of the referral is to get the best design possible and allow additional community input at an official public meeting.
